Gift of the Month: SYMPATHY & MEMORIAL ITEMS

Monday, May 14th, 2007

In addition to all the great floral options that we have for funeral and memorial services we have now included sympathy gifts into our selection. Tapestries, throws, memorial garden stones and wind chimes are all part of our new 2007 line.

While these items look very bland on their own, included with fresh or silk flowers makes them stand out and makes them a gift any family would surely treasure. Confused about what we are talking about? Sympathy gifts are becoming ever more popular as memorial tributes alongside fresh flowers. Here are the explanations of what each one is…

Tapestry or Throw- A “blanket” type gift made from woven materials. Often, religious sayings and images are printed onto them. Fresh or artificial flowers are draped from the top to the bottom to make the gift stand out from the rest. The tapestry is showcased on a easel for easy reading at the service. Prices range from $40.00 - $60.00 (includes easel)
Memorial Garden Stone- Made from concrete, a verse is stamped into the surface of the stone. The stone is displayed on a wrought iron stand. Most of the garden stones are roughly the same size but shape does vary. Often the memorial garden stones are included in fresh floral designs for removal after the service. Prices range from $25.00 - $45.00 (includes stand)
Wind Chimes- Beautifully displayed on a wrought iron stand these wind chimes include a religious or sympathetic verse. They come in blue, orange, silver, white, and many other colors. Usually a ribbon is tied to the stand along with a few fresh cut flowers. Prices range from $50.00 - $75.00 (includes stand)

We carry a vast selection of all of these items year round. However, we sell out quickly so we recommend that you order at least 24 hours in advance. Sometimes we have multiple options available without any advance notice but, at times we sell out days in advance of a funeral service.

It’s amazing how many options there are in the way of sympathy and memorial options…call us today for the many different styles available.

Flower of The Month: THE PEONY!!!

Monday, May 7th, 2007

I am so excited to finally be able to claim my favorite flower as “in season”! Peonies are the epitome of spring. Their feathery blooms and sensational scent make this flower a must have bloom. While these blooms are expensive, they are also huge! Even a small bunch of 5 dropped into a glass pitcher will make a grand statement.
As soon as I see the first bunch of peonies arrive at my wholesaler, I know that spring is officially here! A few weeks ago I saw a small bucket with only one or two bunches of small headed peonies. Now, buckets upon buckets of the lavish pink, red, and white blooms line the aisles of the wholesalers cooler. I never leave without at least two or three bunches…how can I resist?

Peonies are the official “spoil yourself” gift of spring. They have a pretty good vase life as well so you will be able to enjoy them for days to come.
