FTD Out of Roses?

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

FTD.com CSR tells customer they’re all out of roses in his town, but he calls a local FTD florist affiliate to find plenty available for same-day delivery. “The convenience of online florists is consistently undermined by the headaches they cause. If you need flowers, save your time and money and call your local florist.”

24 Hour Policy

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

It was pointed out to me recently from feedback to our site that our 24 hour policy may be confusing. (It was also pointed out that I misspelled “style” but that’s another story for another day.) I just wanted to clarify the reason behind our policy.

It reads:

Please note that to purchase the designs as shown we need at least 24 hours notice. If 24 hours notice isn’t given, the designs will match your selection in style and colors.

We have over forty different designs shown on our website. While we do carry a large variety of flowers on a daily basis there is no way that we can carry every one of these selections on a daily basis.
For example, say you wanted same day delivery on this item:

It would be absolutely no problem because we have each and every one of these flowers in stock. But, as another example, say you chose this design for same day delivery:

While we do have all of these flowers in stock we do not have them in these exact colors. We would substitute flowers that are appropriate for the occasion and the design style would remain intact.

Also, some flowers that we display on our website are seasonal items such as this:

We only carry Hyacinth in the spring so therefore we would be unable to create this design with the exact flowers shown. However, we would be able to come as close as possible with similar linear blue flowers with purple statice accents.

That is why we require the 24 hour notice on the designs displayed on our site. We want the customer to know that we will go above and beyond to create a design that is exactly what they are looking for. If we are notified a day in advance it is no problem for us to get exactly what the customer is looking for.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion about our policy on the site. The best thing to do is to call us and discuss what items we have in stock so that we can create the perfect floral gift just for you!
